Hairstyles for women over 70 should be an expression of your deep self! You, certainly, don’t have to stay with the same one forever. Mix it up every couple of months to find the look you love the best. Have fun and happy hairstyling!

Short hairstyles for women over 70 don’t have to be boring! We women are always searching for ways to change up our hairstyle but usually end up stuck with our go-to or something familiar to us. Many of us love the length because it allows putting the hair up in a ponytail, separating it into braids, twirling our fingers in it, and much more. Sometimes it even becomes a security blanket.

If you’re looking to be gutsy, take some of these photos with you the next time you visit the salon. The payoff of being adventurous will show itself when you walk out with newfound confidence.

1. Swept Back Gray Hairstyle. Feathered and tapered are very popular techniques to wear hair among women over 70. If you’re not the one to spend a lot of time getting ready in the morning, it’ll only take a couple of minutes to run your hands and some texturizing spray through your hair!

2. Voluminous Pixie for Fine Hair. Some volume on the top and textured pieces framing the face — that’s what hairstyles for women over 70 need to boost otherwise limp tresses.

3. Silver Pixie Bob with Disconnection. We all know that too much layering is a big no-no when it comes to haircuts for women over 70 with thinning locks. However, even thin hair can gain depth and movement with strategically placed layers.

9. Attractive Wavy Bob. Another textured bob haircut, this time with a longer length, lends a hand to sass and fun. Women looking to keep their wavy or curly hair will love this option.

10. Stacked Cut with Glasses. This cross between a pixie in the back and a bob up front plays up the curls in a fun way. Not all haircuts for women over 70 have to be straight and simple!

11. Cropped Pixie with Waves and Balayage. Short hairstyles for women over 70 aren’t limited to whites and grays – if you want additional style points for your favoring style, try some waves and balayage lowlights for volume.

12. Rooty Blonde Mushroom Hairstyle. This choppy bowl cut reincarnation shows how good old hairstyles for women over 70 can be revamped to look edgy while flattering your facial features and hair type and delivering low maintenance.

13. Layered Pixie Bob Cut. A favorite among hairstyles for women over 70, the tapered pixie cut doesn’t suggest thick hair only. It works well for fine gray hair as well.

14. Elegant Look with Micro Bangs. A baby fringe may feel like a daring addition to short hairstyles for women over 70 unless it is cut super light and coupled with sufficient volume throughout the perimeter.

15. Textured Pixie with Side-Swept Bangs. Look cool yet graceful with this textured pixie undercut that highlights your cheekbones. Opt for some side-swept bangs for a more romantic feel. Plus, they even hide your forehead wrinkles!

16. Neck-Length Bob for Seniors. While long hairstyles for women over 70 are not as popular as short cuts, midi hair is often considered for the softness and femininity it delivers. And you can take it up a notch with the gray and white color scheme that adds depth and looks perfectly natural.

17. Tapered Pixie Haircut with Bangs. Want to try pixies but not yet ready for the really short ones? The tapered pixie haircut will help you in transitioning from your usual style to your new hairdo. Plus, it’s still elegant and feminine.

18. Lisa Rinna’s Spiky Bob. Staying true to her signature flicky bob for decades, the stylish actress inspires ladies interested in short choppy hairstyles for over 70, whether they are dimensional blondes or caramel-kissed brunettes.

19. Faux-Hawk for Thick Hair. Got thick hair and feel bored with medium-length hairstyles? Trim it up, but keep the thickness you love at the top.

21. Beige Blonde Feathered Pixie Bob. When looking for low-maintenance hairstyles, it makes sense to give preference to a shaggy finish, which is less demanding to styling.

22. Fun Textured Cut. Actually, short choppy hairstyles don’t need to feel unkempt but rather vibrant and full of movement, as illustrated by this dynamic crop.

23. Voluminous Choppy Pixie. If you already have natural waves, having a pixie haircut will elevate your bouncy hair. This cut adds texture and body, and complementing it with a shiny color will give your hair more dimension.

29. Feathered Haircut with Highlighted Bangs. Want a little texture in your pixie cut? It won’t take long to get some with this pretty choice!

30. Platinum Blonde Pixie with Piece-y Bangs. Short choppy hairstyles make older ladies look younger and classier, but a daring color like platinum blonde and a trendy addition like piece-y bangs can elevate the style even higher.

31. White Haircut for Women with Fine Hair. Let the longer locks frame the face and brush over the ears with another take on the pixie. Shorter pieces at the crown of the head give a boost of body.

36. Textured Bob for Fine Hair over 70. Short haircuts for women over 70 shouldn’t be overly layered since that can deprive fine hair of volume: some outside layers and depth added with coloring are just what you need.

37. Neck-Length Hair with Wispy Layers. Aptly layered short hairstyles for women over 70 will retain most of the body while promoting lift at the roots by removing excess weight and producing tons of texture with an adequate finish.

38. Inverted Bob with Gray Blending. This straight blunt bob is extremely easy to style, all the more so as the mix of natural gray and beige blonde lends lots of dimension and saves the strands from looking bland.

39. Extra Short Curls. A short hairstyle with soft curls makes your best facial features, such as the eyes, stand out.

I bet it looks great! I am 70 and wear my hair shoulder-length. I have blond highlights in it. I don’t think age should have anything to do with how long you should wear your hair or what color your hair should be.
